Most dog owners, including our clients, experience some dog behavioral issues, including lack of self-control, pulling on the leash during walks, not sitting, staying or getting into the down position on the first command, whining, potty training issues, jumping, shyness, fear, anxiety, aggression, and/or barking at people, animals or objects. To instill good habits and correct unwanted or unsafe behaviors, each dog or puppy must be evaluated and trained according to individual needs and training goals.
Like humans, dogs have unique personalities and are motivated and learn in different ways, and these factors must be taken into consideration when approaching dog training and behavior modification. Training a young puppy who lacks self-control is very different from training a large dog with dog or people aggression. This is why Metro Dog Training™ begins the training process in a one-on-one setting as opposed to a group obedience class loaded with distractions. This way, we can focus on you and your dog or puppy’s specific training needs at first.
Private Dog Training Sessions & Classes: Our dog training packages are broken down into phases, introducing new training techniques, as we gradually socialize your dog and add common everyday distractions. Each week, we enter a new phase to incorporate into your daily dog training routine. This will build upon the prior week’s learned training phase, reinforce your pack leadership with your dog, and culminate in a complete canine training program. Our routine dog training exercises are easy to implement into your lifestyle and will effectively communicate to your dog or puppy what you want it to do every time. With daily practice and consistency, you can take your calm and relaxed canine anywhere, and the results will last a lifetime.
